Yahweh, help me understand __________________
A Prayer from Hebrews 11:13-16
Yahweh, thank You for the people who died trusting. For the people I’ve known who believed to the end and for the people I read about in Your book.
There are things You’ve promised that I may not receive as quickly as I’d like. Give me eyes to see their fulfillment, if only from a distance.
I confess, Lord, that I am a foreigner and a temporary resident on the earth. Remind me of it when I need reminding. Show me how to live like this place isn’t my place.
I am seeking a homeland. Keep my eyes looking. Don’t let me forget I’m still waiting.
When I want to go back to what’s comfortable and easy, don’t let me return. Stir in me a longing for a better place. Let Heaven be my compass heading and let desire be the wind in my sails.
You, my God, have prepared a city for me (for all of us who trust You to do what you’ve promised). Don’t let me forget it.
Teach me the songs of home, and let them be on my lips always.
Amen.

ahhhhh - "Teach me the songs of home" - love this.
and there surely are songs of home....our coming home
This prayer touched me so deeply, Jennifer.
