Day 35
Make me like my heroes
To Start
Silence is a gift. Enjoy it. Silence is power. Let God use it.
Pray
Every Sunday we’ll have these same prayer prompts and then a prayer drawn directly from the text:
Yahweh, I think I’m realizing something ___________
Yahweh, I’m feeling challenged to _______________
Yahweh, thank You for ______________________
Yahweh, I want more of _____________________
Yahweh, help me understand __________________
A Prayer from Hebrews 11:24-31
Yahweh, fill me with faith. I’m greedy for the gift.
Empower me to grow up, to leave behind childish things and embrace the truth of who I am in You. Give me the courage to choose to suffer with Your people rather than enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. Show me what it looks like to suffer with the suffering. Reveal to me the privileges that “protect” me from experiencing what others are experiencing as they walk with You. reveal to me the pleasurable sins that I need to put down. Help me choose reproach for the sake of Christ now. Keep my eyes trained on the reward to come.
If I need to leave places and people, systems and groups, help me leave.
If I need to institute routines, traditions, or practices, help me start.
Make me brave, like one who sees the invisible.
Give me the faith to do what You tell me to do, even at great cost, even when what You tell me to do is weird.
Lead me through parted seas. Teach me to trust you even when I can’t see where You’re going or can’t understand what You’re doing.
Tell walls to crumble. Give me the faith to believe they will.
Help me believe in you even when everyone around me doesn’t. Help me risk everything to come to You.

Amen!
