Day 35
A prayer to keep us from stumbling
Every Sunday we’ll have these same prayer prompts and then a prayer drawn directly from the text:
Yahweh, I think I’m realizing that _________________
Yahweh, I’m feeling challenged to __________________
Yahweh, thank You for ______________________
Yahweh, I want more of _____________________
Yahweh, help me understand __________________
A Prayer from John 15:26-16:11
Counselor, come.
Spirit, testify.
From the Father, speak the truth about the Son.
Fill us like the cloud filled the temple. Let the whole world see You in us. Move through us like the mighty rushing wind on Pentecost. Let the whole world hear You through us.
Jesus, thank You for Your words that light the way and keep us from stumbling.
When we encounter opposition and persecution, let us feel a kinship with You. Remind us that suffering is a promise.
Jesus, we never got to live with You in the flesh on earth and sometimes the idea of it can seem so much better than our current reality. Help us not to long for a lesser thing. Show us how good it is to be filled with the Spirit, comforted by the Spirit, empowered by the Spirit, and led by the Spirit. Remind us (prove to us) this is better.
Through the Spirit in us convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment. Give us boldness to speak and live the truth.
